[Gsoc] Reg: Gsoc 2018 - Matlab Mex Demo Project - Updates Phase 2

Hello all,

Good day!

The following is the progress for the project -

1. Regarding the Matlab Mex Demo Project. I have added more functional mex files from the GP toolbox to the demo I am working on.

2. The code is updated in the following GitHub repo: https://www.github.com/sidgairo18/SCILAB_MEX_TOOLBOX/

3. Other details are mentioned in my wiki for the project - https://wiki.scilab.org/Working%20Demo%20with%20Usage%20Docs%20for%20the%20Mex%20Module

I am currently working on the following -

1. Porting the remaining functions from the GP toolbox.
2. Writing the Help for the DEMO.
3. Final builder for the Toolbox.

I had a few doubts -

1. How will the DEMO be available to the users? -
 - Will it be supplied with SCILAB.
 - Or do we make it available separately.

Would be highly grateful for any suggestions or mistakes with my approach.

Regards,
Siddhartha

Re: Reg: Gsoc 2018 - Matlab Mex Demo Project - Updates Phase 2

Hello,

A few more clarifications and doubts -

1. What version of Scilab will the previous commits for the mexlib module, made as a part of GSoC 2017 be released?

2. Also there are a few commits made by me from the start of the programme this year for the MEX API in Scilab. Would be grateful if someone could take a look at those.

3. I have been porting functions from the GP toolbox. Until now I was compiling and testing each function in the toolbox separately using the ilib_mex_build() command.
Eg - ilib_mex_build(ilib_name,table,files,libs,"",ldflags,cflags,fflags)

But now I would wish to compile and build all the functions in the toolbox at the same time. I have been trying to work with tbx_build_gateway() to do that but could not find much documentation available for mex compilation. Also the help for tbx_build_gateway() here - https://help.scilab.org/doc/5.5.2/en_US/tbx_build_gateway.html is not very clear.

So for example if I have 2 mex files - a_mex.cpp and b_mex.cpp how would the tbx_build_gateway() command to build these files look like?

Would be grateful for help with this regard.

Thanks.

Regards,
Siddhartha
